Did you know?...

That the French River Provincial Park was designated a Heritage Park in 1985 for recognition of its "historic, natural, and recreational values". The French River Heritage Park follows the waterway routes of First Nation people travel prior to European exploration in the early 1600's. It also traces the route of the Voyageurs and fur traders that followed later.

A visitor centre for the French River Provincial Park has opened off of Highway 69 next to where the road crosses the French River. The new centre is part of the Ontario Living Legacy/Great Lakes Heritage Coast plan.

Explanative exhibits and educational events related to the cultural and natural resources of the river, including the Georgian Bay coast area are included in the Visitor Centre for visitors from around the world to view. Plan to visit this Visitor Interpretive Centre on your trip.

We are taking bookings for 2024
